Wesclin High School New Staff Members

The Wesclin School district welcomed a new high school biology teacher this 2015-2016 school year, Mrs. Carrie Buss. Buss was previously a Biology and Anatomy and Physiology teacher at Alton High School for 12 years. After being asked what she likes most about Wesclin so far, Buss said, “The culture of the school here is something to be proud of. The students are kind and respectful. I have had many students and parents who have offered to help me with our classroom pets. Also, students here show a genuine interest in science.”  Students have nothing but positive comments to say about their new teacher. Junior Caitlyn Picard, said “Her positive and energetic attitude is contagious. It is clear to see she loves what she does for a living!” Buss said she can’t wait to cheer on the Wesclin Warriors this year and watch the games. The piece of advice she wanted to give her students was, “Enjoy your time at Wesclin; before you know it you will be graduating. Make friends and memories that will last.” Wesclin is excited to welcome a new member to our Warrior family!

Also, Wesclin Sr. High School welcomes Jon Bagby, the new Spanish teacher. Mr. Bagby said, “I am looking forward to getting to know the students this year.” Prior to this school year at Wesclin, he taught at Taylorville High School for six and a half years in their Spanish department. Sophomore Madeline Oelrich said, “He makes learning Spanish a lot more simple and easier to understand.” Mr. Bagby will also be the sponsor of the Wesclin Spanish Club at the high school. He said that in his class, “Errors do not exist, only learning experiences.”
