Members who went to the competition included were Jessica Conley, Nicole Fuhler, Maddie Henderson, Maddi Kaiser, Thomas Krausz, Ethan Huff, and Zach Stegman. Junior Tom Krausz said, “It was cool to go walk around and see the college campus that I am interested in while being at the math team competition.” Each student at the competition had to qualify at regionals to go to the Math Team state competition. They all qualified as a team in Algebra II at the Regional ICTM meet, which took place at SIUE on Saturday, February 28. Sophomore Ethan Huff qualified as an individual in Geometry as well. At State, each student took a 50 minute, 20 question test in different categories. The end results were: Ethan Huff placed 25th out of over 200 participating students in the Geometry Final, and the Algebra II team comprised of Jessica, Nicole, Maddie, Tom, and Zach finished 16th place out of 33 teams in their category. Junior Maddi Kaiser said, “Even though the tests were long and challenging, the end results were a great reward.”
