Cold and Flu Season

November 24, 2014

Wesclin Families:

As some of you may be aware, we have had a significant number of students out due to illness (especially at our early elementary grades) this week.  It is that time of year and we all must work together to attempt to stop the spread of germs.

As a district, you can expect the following from us:

  • All staff will be encouraging the students to cover their mouth when sneezing, coughing, etc.
  • All staff will be encouraging the students to wash their hands throughout the school day.
  • The custodians will continue to clean our schools on a daily basis.
  • The custodians will also be completing a very thorough scrubbing of all areas during the Thanksgiving break.

We need your assistance as well.  We would like to request the following from you:

  • At the first sign of a fever or vomiting, keep your child home from school.
  • Keep your child at home until they have been fever free for 24 hours.
  • Encourage your child to sneeze into their elbow.
  • Encourage your child to wash their hands multiple times throughout the day.

I appreciate everyone’s cooperation.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact:

Nurse Rita Wuebbels
email: wuebbelsr@wesclin.k12.il.us
office number: 224-7341 ext. 5603, or contact her through your child's school office.
